Everyone likes free stuff especially the Idea of getting free money. An airdrop in crypto can be thought of as basically getting free money dropped into your wallet usually for doing certain tasks, holding a certain token, ect. The values of the airdrops can range from less than 1$ to mid 6 figures.
Most will say you have to be lucky to get airdrops or “I never get airdrops”. But you can actually stack the odds in your favor and position yourself to receive upcoming airdrops.
Airdrop 1: The Cosmos
The Cosmos Ecosystem is full of airdrops, it is considered the cosmos way. In fact you can check out a full list of all the upcoming, previous, and protocols that have taken snapshots for upcoming airdrops here https://cosmosairdrops.io/ . You can toggle based on the token, Snapshot date, if it already happened. Ect.
This may look overwhelming at first especially if you do not have funds to spare. But the Summary for the cosmos airdrops is to be staking your tokens and being active with the governance proposals. You can vote and stake thru the Keplr dashboard here
https://wallet.keplr.app/
This is what the dashboard looks like. In the Ui you can Stake, Vote and send tokens for each selected chain. The Chains that are most likely to airdrop tokens to users are the ones that tend to be smart contract chains similar to Ethereum. These would be the likes of Cosmos, Osmosis, Juno, Secret Network, Evmos. Not only have these chains airdropped tokens to users in the past but they are most likely going to do it in the future as well with the founders already being very adamant about staking your tokens. There are even twitter profiles specifically for the airdrops.
Also Note that you want to be voting on proposals as well when your staking for 2 reasons.
because your vote matters and is your chance to have a say in the network
More airdrops
Example, if you only staked your juno instead of voting on proposals. When the NETA airdrop came out (was over 20,000$ at one point). you would have only recieved 1 Neta. If you just voted on one proposal you would have gotten 10 additional. Summary, if you didn’t vote you left over 20k on the table. (each $neta was over 2k at one point
If your low on Cash NFA but sticking with staking some $juno, $osmo, $Atom, $scrt. Is a good strategy to get the best bang for your buck. Of course there are other chains that will prob airdrop but money is not free, just giving the best bang for the buck.

Airdrop 2: The L2’s (Arbitrum/ Optimism)
Arbitrum
With the Nitro upgrade and the success of the optimisms first airdrop $op token airdrop, there is prob a big chance that Arbitrum will do the same. Here are some different ways you can hunt for an airdrop IF there is one for Arbitrum
Use the bridges like hop protocol and https://bridge.arbitrum.io/
Buy an nft from https://trove.treasure.lol/ or https://tofunft.com/arbi (again this is all speculation so dont splurge/ find something you like)
Join the discord and get a couple of roles following their tasks here https://guild.xyz/arbitrum?platform=DISCORD&hash=58d49c029fa18f7bc2cb93dedaebd2a24dffe7234b0ef222ca15b8df0024bbca
Use several of the native dapps and hold some of the native tokens
Overall after swaps and trades will probably set you back about 20$… if its as good as the optimism airdrop well I think you will make a good ROI. Some got 4 to 5 figures on the OP airdrop. Again this is speculation and there are no guarantees. Also the Arbitrum Odessy will be starting back up and Ill drop more details as it goes, subscribe if you would like to stay up to date
I would also recommend using some of the protocols like
•GMX-derivatives platform
•Cap finance - similar to GMX but derivatives platform
•Dopex/Jones Dao/ Plutus - options
•Tracer AKA mycelium
•Umami-Vault optimization
•Sperax- Fractionalized stable coin
•Treasure Dao- NFT/gamefi
•. Vesta and Radiant Finance - Money Markets like AAVE
I shared a list on some of the steps for each one here
Optimism
If you missed the first airdrop, that’s okay, consider complete these quests and claiming the NFT’s
Check out the full guide here
The battle of Arbitrum and Optimism, IMO the best way to be eligible for this is to use and test as many of the dapps as you can on the chains.
Airdrop 3: Tokenless DAPPs
This is not guaranteed and is more speculation than the previous 2 but most of the time a protocol tends to launch a token to
Align incentives of users
Reward Early Adoptors
Pay the team
Attract liquidity
There is a Mega list of potential Dapp’s here https://defillama.com/airdrops. This is speculation but it doesn’t hurt to make a few swaps, LP , and use the dapps just in case, just be sure you are using a dummy wallet to be on the safe side. Who knows mabe one day you could wake up and have 20k just waiting for you to claim just because you made a simple swap on the protocols Dex.
Some additional resources you can subscribe and sign up for are
https://airdropalert.com/ and https://airdrops.io/. There is also a channel on discord targeted specifically for airdrops.
Summary
Not all airdrops are equal and I recommend making a new wallet especially if your airdrop hunting. Some protocols are malicious and are a scam to take your money. These scams could be in the form of:
Signing a malicious contract to drain your wallet
Asking for your Private keys to claim the airdrop (NEVER give out your private keys)
Having you download or visit a Phishing site to steal your Data, give a virus, ECT.
The best thing to do when airdrop hunting is to have a separate wallet and a separate device. Now I get it for some like staking your $ATOM, JUNO, Ect. What you do for claiming airdrops is wait after the airdropped is out and see what happens. If the team rugs, or the contracts end up being a scam to drain your wallet you Obviously dont want to claim the airdrop.
Again these are not the only airdrops that there will ever be, in fact there will be tons not on this list, its just up to you to take the initiative and Go get it. If you want to reap the rewards you must put in the work.
